Howard Wirch, FCPA, FCGA
Managing Partner
The Managing Partner at Accent, Howard is a firm believer in taking care of not just your own mind and body, but also giving back to your community. Awarded his FCPA in 2017, he served on the CGA Manitoba and CPA Manitoba Boards, participating in National and Provincial committees. This involvement continues by instructing seminars for the profession, delivering presentations for the CPA Financial Literacy Program, and is an active part of his local Dauphin Rotary Club for over 20 years. After completing the Ironman Canada triathlon in 2008, he went on to participate in various triathlon, half-marathons and marathons and enjoys cycling, swimming, and running in his spare time.

Whitney Sharkey, CPA, CA
Associate Partner
Whitney grew up in The Pas and moved to Brandon in 2005. She graduated from Brandon University in 2010 and completed her CA designation in 2012. She enjoys working with owner-managed businesses and not-for profit organizations. She helps clients navigate expenses and write-offs to ensure they end up with the most optimal tax situation possible. Whitney puts high priority on volunteering in the community and she holds board positions for many non-profits. In her spare time, she can be found at the gym, outside in her garden or spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Kirsten Barth, CPA
Senior Account Manager
Kirsten might focus on year-end financial statements and tax returns at work, but the numbers don’t prevent her from seeing the individuality in each of her clients. Approaching challenges with a blend of analytical and creative thinking, she finds a deep satisfaction in problem solving and meeting a variety of different clients with unique situations. With a passion for home décor and design, she approaches each room and each client file like its own masterpiece.

Office Manager
Denise’s favorite part about the many tasks she takes on in a day is the client interaction and building strong client relationships. As the Office Manager, she’s responsible for payroll, accounts receivable and payable, and administrative duties such as reception and answering phones. In her spare time, she loves to travel and enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She loves to experiment with new recipes and enjoys recreating the food that she grew up with in the Philippines.

Between doing the bookkeeping for their farm business clients and preparing GST returns, she ensures the work environment is both happy and comfortable. Disney World is her Happy Place, Las Vegas is a close second, and the third might just be on the couch binging historic British drama shows.
